ABOUT niamh
Founder of Elemental Health Club.
Hey! I'm Niamh, proud geordie, cheese addict and no bullshit fitness instructor.
As a kid, I loved movement - dance, trampolining, gymnastics, netball (all though I wasn't up to much!) - and at around 12 I knew I wanted to pursue a career in dance. I completed my BA(Hons) in Dance with a new found respect for my body and how far it could push, but also a desire to share my love of movement with others.
I discovered Pilates when I was diagnosed with Hypermobility Syndrome, and without it I'm not sure my body would have coped with the strain of 35 hours of dancing a week. I completed my Level 3 Diploma in Mat Pilates and a handful of specialist courses, started to teach and quickly signed up for my Reformer Pilates qualification after learning about the full Pilates system and wanting to add too my knowledge - my goal is to train on all of the classical equipment eventually! I then trained as an Aerial Hoop Instructor, another love I had found during my time at uni!
After throwing myself into the industry head first, I began to realise how many conflicting opinions, social media 'experts' and scaremongering conspiracy theorists were out there and I knew I wanted to create a safe, inclusive and bullshit free zone!
I won't lie to you and claim one single exercise will transform your body and change your life, you won't find me in a new matching set every week (bur crack on if that's your thing) and you DEFINITELY won't get wack diet advice or harmful diet-culture nonsense. What you WILL get is a balanced but challenging classes, options to suit you, personalised feedback and hand on (if you want them!) corrections, a good natter and laugh through class and hopefully some life long friends and a new respect and love for your body.
